Choose your 'keyer' type, open the 'fill / key window' and drag it / them over to your second screen connected to your HDMI switcher.
  • GREEN = Chroma keyer (fill window): You need a computer with 1x HDMI output for fill window
  • BLACK = LUMA keyer (fill + key windows): ...a computer with 2x HDMI outputs for fill and key window

'FILL WINDOW' DRAWING MODE


Press "ON / OFF" to enable / disable the drawing mode of your video screen. Use CTRL + D to toggle this function 'ON' and 'OFF'. The 'CLEAR' button (or double-click on the rubber) erases your drawings. Keep in mind that you can't select files (e.g. for picture function) with the drawing mode enabled.

Provide a Youtube video ID and click on "SHOW". These IDs can be found when you click on the "Share" button in Youtube below the video screen. Use CTRL + V to toggle this function 'ON' and 'OFF'. Click here to erase cookies.

Provide an URL of a web resource and click on "SHOW". Be aware that not all web resources allow it to be displayed within an iframe (X-Frame-Options).

Select the size of the picture pane and click on 'SHOW' button to open up the pane. Hit 'SHOW CTRL' in the header bar to display a (multiple) file selector on your video screen. Use CTRL + P to toggle this function 'ON' and 'OFF'. Pictures should have a type of .png or .jpg, a size of...
  • SMALL: 800 x 600px
  • SKY: 800 x 980px
  • FULL: 1820 x 980px
...and a resolution of 72dpi for optimal display.

Welcome

Our 'VIDEO OVERLAY CONTROLLER' allows you to customise your video stream of your favourite video conferencing software (e.g. ZOOM, Teams, Webex, GotoMeeting). We have developed the software for our own 'Business Design' trainings and workshops to provide the participants a typical 'Business Design' experience (see http://www.businessdesign.org) and to allow more engaging and interactive virtual sessions.

Features

Some features of this tool are:
  1. Show and hide visual elements you need for every workshop (e.g. side banners, agenda, name badges)
  2. Show and hide pictures, videos, text elements on your screen
  3. Real-time chat / visual "word clouds" / polls for an extra flavour of interactivity with your audience

Requirements

You you need the following equipment to get the software up and running:
  1. Computer with your video conferencing software
  2. HDMI video switcher (e.g. Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini) with a LUMA or Chroma keyer
  3. USB to HDMI adapter to connect your computer to the HDMI switcher (your second screen)
  4. External video camera that is also connected via HDMI to your switcher
